Jay Martin Jr. is a Pacific Northwest native living on the eastside of Seattle with his wife of 20 years, Shannon, and their 3 beautiful children. Jay has found a way to uniquely intersect his passion for community and equality with his 15-plus years of professional experience in theater and media.

Jay has performed in productions like Joseph and The Technicolor Dreamcoat and Godspell and has interviewed Emmy award-winning journalists, stylists, and directors.

 Jay hosted six seasons of his show, The Drive Project podcast, which for two of the seasons was under Converge Media. As a captivating National Host for PBS and the television series PBS’s KCTS9 Presents, and having been seen anchoring the PBS regional news for CrossCut Now, Jay regularly shares stories that speak of passion, purpose, and possibility to a wide reach of diverse audiences. He has also appeared multiple times on KING5’s talk show New Day Northwest, and KOMO4’s Arc Seattle Morning Show, in addition to the many commercials he has appeared in, such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Philip’s Law and Injury. Jay has also received a National Bronze Telly Award for being a lead actor in a commercial.



When he’s not on the screen, Jay enjoys preparing meals for family and friends. Jay can be found hosting and emceeing events to bring people together in the Seattle area, including The Bite of Seattle, The Taste of Tacoma, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. He is also invested in his work in diversity, equity, and inclusion with several companies including Sono Bello. Jay also sits on the board for Melodic Caring Project.
